Around Christmas and the New Year, timetables for road transport between Finland and Europe differ from the usual.
Import shipments from Europe to Finland
In week 51, import shipments from most of Europe are loaded normally. For traffic from Turkey to Finland, orders should be ready to depart no later than week 50 so that they arrive in Finland before the Christmas holidays.
During Christmas week 52, the distribution of import shipments arriving in Finland will continue from Monday, December 21, 2020 to Wednesday, December 23, 2020. However, delivery delays may occur due to congestion caused by the holidays. Trailers arriving in Finland during the Christmas week will be unloaded in week 52 or at the beginning of week 53, depending on the ferry dates.
Export shipments from Finland to Europe
The last export departures from Finland to Europe are scheduled for week 51. It is recommended that bookings for shipments that must reach the consignees before the end of the year should be made as early as possible.
In the last week of the year, 53/2020 export vehicles will be loaded on Thursday, December 31, 2020, and from week 1/2021, on Fridays as usual.
During weeks 52, 53 and 1 there are fewer departures than normally, and longer transport times are possible for both imports and exports.
