Hurricane Harvey disrupts transportation in Houston

Due to severe flooding from Hurricane Harvey, port terminals, major highways, rail lines, airports, Customs, trucking and warehouses have been and will remain closed with cargoes stuck until waters recede. Varova Green Worldwide Shipping’s Houston remains closed, and its employees were relocated to safety with no injuries.

Hurricane Harvey is the most severe storm in the U.S. since 2005 hurricane Katrina. The fourth-largest U.S. city Houston and its surroundings are still expected to see more flooding before things get back to normal.

Customers with shipments to, from or via Houston area should prepare for delays to both airfreight and ocean freight shipments for some time. Please contact Varova traffic operations for more details.
