Strike threat at the ports in Finland on 2 February

The Finnish Transport Workers’ Union has announced a 24-hour work stoppage for Friday, 2 February 2018. Other trade unions will take supporting action. If the plans are actualized, port operations will stop for 24 hours as of early Friday morning.

On week 5, export shipments from Finland should to be ready for pick-up on Wednesday so that they can be loaded on export units on time. However, there is a possibility that departures from Finnish ports will be delayed.

Deliveries for import shipments arriving in Finland at the end of the week 5 may be postponed to Monday.

Ocean freight import containers cannot be moved to the terminal for unloading during the work stoppage. The containers will be unloaded on the following working day. Full containers will not be received or released at port.

We recommend that you contact our operations in good time if there are urgent shipments.
