The European Parliament approved on 14.11.2024 the Commission’s proposal to postpone the implementation of the Deforestation Regulation (EUDR, EU 2023/1115) by one year, until 30.12.2025. This gives companies additional time to prepare for the regulation’s requirements.
It is important for companies to use this transition period effectively to familiarize themselves with the requirements of regulation and ensure they are ready to comply with the new rules when they enter into force.
The goal of the EU Deforestation Regulation is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and fight the global decline in biodiversity caused by deforestation.
