Summer holidays update for Finland and European road transport

The Varova offices, as well as terminals and port operations in Finland will close on Midsummer Eve, Friday, June 20, 2025. During the week before Midsummer week and the following week, there will be some deviations in collection and delivery schedules.

Midsummer 20-22 June 2025

Export shipments from Finland to Europe during Midsummer week will depart from Finland on Thursday, June 19. Groupage and part loads should be picked up on Tuesday or Wednesday – one day earlier than usual.

Import shipments from Europe to Finland will be collected normally during Midsummer week, as Friday, June 20, is a regular working day in most European countries. However, for urgent shipments, we recommend notifying us well in advance to ensure departures before Midsummer.

Deliveries of shipments arriving in Finland on Thursday, June 19, will begin on Monday, June 23.

Road transport during the European summer season

July is the main month for summer holidays in Finland, and many businesses will close.

Holidays affect European road transports mostly in July and August. In Southern European countries like Italy, Spain, Portugal, and France, the main holiday period falls in August, during which many manufacturing facilities and businesses are closed.

During this time, some transport lanes will operate on reduced schedules, and delivery times between Europe and Finland may be longer than usual. It’s advised to check schedules for urgent deliveries in advance with Varova’s road transport team.

We wish everyone a nice summer!
