We would like to inform you about the upcoming transport schedules between Europe and Finland during the Christmas period.
Around Christmas and the New Year, there will be limited transport capacity and less traffic between Finland and Europe than usual, and longer transport times are possible for both imports and exports.
Public holidays in Finland
Varova’s offices are closed on the following days:
Wednesday, 24 December 2025– Christmas Eve
Thursday, 25 December 2025– Christmas Day
Friday, 26 December 2025 – Boxing Day
Thursday, 1 January 2026 – New Year’s Day
Tuesday, 06 January 2026 – Epiphany
There will be no cargo handling or deliveries or collections the above dates.
Road transport to Finland
Imports from Europe to Finland will proceed largely according to normal timetables during the pre‑Christmas week (week 51), with arrivals and deliveries taking place in weeks 1 and 2. In week 52, only a few individual loadings will depart from European terminals, while most import shipments will be postponed to week 1.
Departures from Europe in weeks 1 and 2 are expected to follow standard schedules, though some country‑specific exceptions may occur. Please note that shipments from Turkey and the United Kingdom should be ready for collection already in week 49 to enable arrival in Finland before Christmas.
Road transport from Finland
Exports from Finland to Europe will also follow regular schedules during week 51. Collections scheduled for Christmas week will mostly be shifted to week 1, when shipments can be picked up between Monday and Wednesday, December 29–31.
We recommend planning shipments with these adjustments in mind to ensure smooth deliveries during the Christmas holiday season.
