Congestion and delays in European container ports

Since summer 2025, typhoons and bad weather have delayed vessel departures from China to Europe. Moreover, there have been strikes at the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerop. These factors are causing significant congestion and schedule disruptions in container traffic.

  • The ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp are currently heavily congested and vessels are facing waiting times of over 10 days before unloading can start.
  • Industrial action is also present at other Central European ports, and the situation may continue to escalate.
  • Feeder vessels may be forced to skip certain ports entirely. Estimated arrival times are constantly changing.

Our ocean freight team is closely monitoring the situation and updating shipment arrival estimates based on information received from shipping lines.
