Soon, it will be time to take a break from our busy schedules and let Christmas to arrive. Before that, let’s take a moment to reflect on the past year, 2024.
Although the weak economic situation has been reflected in transport and logistics, Varova will finish this year with a slightly better overall picture compared to the previous year. This has been driven by larger average shipment sizes, ongoing development projects, and close collaboration with our customers and partners. I am sure many of us have had challenges, but it’s been inspiring to make this journey together while creating something new.
In addition to our core business duties, we have had an opportunity to focus on the future as we have prepared a new strategy for the period 2025–27.
The new strategy will not only build on the proven strengths of Varova but will include renewal. ‘Modern and sustainable’ is an expression that has already been used to describe the strategy, especially from the perspectives of change and continuity.
Therefore, we start 2025 with enthusiasm and confidence. Thanks for this go to our loyal customers, reliable partners, our committed personnel and Varova’s family business owners with a long term perspective.
Celebrating great feedback from employees and customers
In recent years, we have invested the improvement of the quality of our customer service. A few years ago, I discussed with our staff and stakeholders that on sustainable way a great customer experience can only be based on excellent employee experience. This is particularly true for a service-oriented company like ours. Therefore, we regularly monitor the well-being of our personnel using the Quality of Working Life measurement, which has consistently yielded positive results.
Simultaneously with clients, we monitor our success in customer experience through a customer satisfaction survey conducted a few times a year. We can celebrate the end of the season with high grades. The average score our services is close to nine, with particularly high marks for statements such as Service is friendly (9.28/10) and Service is professional (9.28/10). Additionally, we identify areas for development based on the feedback given and use the data for improvement.
Varova and MLL – working together for the benefit of children and young people
Varova has been supporting the anti-bullying efforts of the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare (MLL) and their telephone and chat service for children and young people for a few years now. Our partnership has evolved beyond mere donations. For example, MLL representatives have visited our office to share updates from the support initiatives. Moreover, we strengthened our collaboration through a joint golf event and by sponsoring the MLL school road safety campaign.
Varova and MLL have captured some of our shared moments on video. Take a look to see what our cooperation for a good cause has included: Watch video
We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
It’s great that we can continue our journey with you next year as well.
Sincerely,
Mikko Vihanto
