Flood damage may still cause delays in European road freight

Heavy rains in recent weeks caused significant flood damage in several regions of Central Europe, particularly in southwestern Germany and parts of Belgium. Roads and motorways are still under repair in various locations in Germany and detours are used for trucks.

Moreover, connections between Italy and Central Europe are still affected. In Italy, driving bans on heavy vehicles will also come into effect, which may cause delays on transports.

Due to the approaching holiday season and difficult weather conditions, European road transport may experience longer than normal transport times in the coming weeks.
