Container train from China. A fast and cost-efficient alternative
Rail transport – faster than sea, cheaper than air
Rail freight from China reaches Finland in about three weeks. Rail transport is a suitable transport solution when transit time by sea is too long, but the speed of airfreight is not required. Therefore, railway transport is optimally suited for high-value industrial and commercial goods, as well as for seasonal and promotional goods.
We arrange transport for both LCL and FCL shipments. Transport units are mostly regular 40’ containers.
Two routings from China to Finland
From China via Central Europe
The China-Europe Block Train (CEBT) operates regularly between China and Europe both eastbound and westbound. The route covers over 12000 kilometers from China to Finland through Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and Poland.
Departures are weekly. Total transport time from the major cities in China to Helsinki is approximately 3-4 weeks.
On this routing it is possible to transport temperature-controlled containers (reefer containers). Availability of special equipment is to be confirmed on request.
For dangerous goods, acceptance for rail carriage must be checked in advance, and the shipper must present the required hazardous goods documents.
The direct routing from China to Finland opened in November 2017. The routing is from China through Kazakhstan (Khorgos Dry Port), and further through Russia to Finland.
Departures are usually once a week, and the total transit time 3 weeks from the largest cities in China to Finland.
For the time being, temperature-controlled containers or dangerous goods are not possible on this routing.
